Applications can be initiated by a prospective tenant, a real estate agent, a landlord, or other designated authority. We recommend that only tenant agents or potential applicants use the "Blue Form" and initiate applications. Listing agents and property owners/managers should use the Quick Apply Link to reduce legwork, however, it is not required. To use the Quick Apply Link, refer to this article.
How to Initiate an Application as a Listing Agent
To initiate an application as the listing agent, complete the following steps:
- Log in to your Rental Beast account.
- Click on the "Applications" tab on the main dashboard
- If you click on the listing, a field will expand and show a list of any previously started applications for that listing.
- Click the "Start a Tenant Screening" button.
- Input the contact information of the person reviewing the application and tenant screening reports. If you are the owner or a true proxy for the owner, that will be you! If not, you can enter the owner's information. You will still receive real-time alerts as the application process is completed.
- Input the property address the applicant is applying for.
- Input the applicant(s) contact information. If a guarantor is needed on the application, add them as an applicant.
- Once all the information is entered, click "Submit Application".
- The applicant(s) will receive an email with an invitation to begin their application.
